Social Service/Gerontology is the study of aging. Individuals who are passionate about working with the older adult population will find it beneficial to gain knowledge through the Social Service program.

​

The program's classes are scheduled for students who have obligations during the day, so classes meet once a week in the evenings.

​

Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 Class Schedule

Nursing Home Administration's Test Prep Workshop

Social Service department and the Continuing Education department are working together to have the Nursing Home Administration's Test Prep Workshop! If you are looking for tips, tricks, and techniques on how to answer questions for both the State and National license exams; or, if you need a refresher on the test materials and procedures; or if you are a professional looking for test guidance, consider signing up for the workshop! Information regarding the workshop can be found below:

March 2020 Workshop:

  • Dates and times:

    • Tuesday, March 24th, 2020-6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. and Wednesday, March 25th, 2020-6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.

  • Price: $210

  • Required materials: Pen/pencil, paper, and a folder.

  • Location: A334.

  • Deadline to register for the March Workshop: Between March 22nd to March 23rd, 2020.

April 2020 Workshop:

  • Dates and times:

    • Friday, April 24th, 2020-5:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M., and Saturday, April 25th, 2020-10:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.

  • Price: $210

  • Required materials: Pen/pencil, paper, and a folder.

  • Location: A216.

  • Deadline to register for the April Workshop: Between April 22nd to April 23rd, 2020.

Spring 2020 Class Schedule

Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 semester registration will begin on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020. Summer 2020 semester classes will begin the week of June 1st, while Fall 2020 semester classes will begin the week of August 24th, 2020. Summer 2020 registration will end on Saturday, May 30th, 2020, while Fall 2020 registration will end on Thursday, August 20th, 2020.

Please be sure to verify a way to pay for the Summer 2020 and/or Fall 2020 semester. If you did not verify a way to pay for tuition, you will automatically be dropped from your class(es). You can still register for your class(es) again; however, you will have three (3) calendar days to pay for the tuition or set up a payment plan.   • Social Service 102: Introduction to Gerontology- 6:00 P.M. to 8:50 P.M.-Wilbur Wright College-Main Campus location.

  • Social Service 202: Aging & Human Services- 6:00 P.M. to 8:50 P.M.-Wilbur Wright College-Main Campus location.

Wednesdays:

  • Social Service 103: Aging & Social Policy- 6:00 P.M. to 8:50 P.M.-Wilbur Wright College-Main Campus location.

  • Business 271: Human Resource Management-Wilbur Wright College-Humboldt Park location. Note: This class begins on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020. This class is a 12-week hybrid class.

Thursdays:

  • Social Service 250: Practicum I-6:00 P.M. to 8:50 P.M.-Wilbur Wright College-Main Campus location.

  • Social Service 252: Nursing Home Administration- 6:00 P.M. to 8:50 P.M.-Wilbur Wright College-Humboldt Park location.

Spring 2020 semester began on the week of Monday, January 13th, 2020. Spring 2020 registration is now closed for the semester. More information on Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 registration will be available soon.
